Somatic Art Therapy Workshop

This workshop explores somatic therapy and art therapy.

It’s a creative, somatic led experience that allows you to explore where you hold emotions in your body. The process involves creating a watercolor map of your body using creative marks, images, and symbols. Through this process you will be able to identify places in your body that you hold pain, joy, hope, and other emotions. The hope is that you will learn links between the somatic experience and your emotional experience in order to gain a deeper understanding of your own power to create healing and health.

Anti-Racist Workshop for Therapists

This workshop explores how to appraoch the theraputic alliance from a anti-racist lens.

This lens addresses oppression of the marginalized and the oppressiveness of power and white hegemony. Ways to implement this into practice is to continually identify internalized biases and challenge those beliefs, develop critical consciousness of oppressive systems and structures, and dedicate ourselves to enhancing the agency and access to therapy for marginalized community members. In this workshop we explore language in the therapy room, managing dimensions of power, making space for difference, acknowledging our limitations, viewing the DMS-V from an anti-racist perspective, integrating aspects of culture and politics, and honoring indigineous perspectives of healing.

"Savannah’s Art Therapy sessions exceeded our expectations. Savannah was responsive, she took initiative to understand our employees and company culture, and truly went the extra mile to make the information relatable to our employees. Our first session was so successful that we’ve had her come back again and plan to host more future sessions. Savannah’s knowledge, kindness, and respect, are a perfect combination to make Art Therapy sessions impactful to everyone who attends."
